What the project
needed to do.
Water Filtration 1 — sister company to Pro 1 Painters — installs softeners, whole-house filtration, reverse osmosis and well treatment across coastal Alabama and the New Orleans metro. Its domain was sitting on a suspended host. Campbell Digital Studio built a 213-URL Next.js platform in its place: 21 utility water-quality reports built from EPA and EWG data, 29 service pages from residential softeners to brewery and marina treatment, 38 city pages across two states, six free diagnostic tools, and a free in-home water test booked from every page. The studio runs the site and the Google Business Profile on an active retainer.
Water treatment is a trust sale in a category full of scare tactics — and Water Filtration 1 had no working website at all; its domain sat on a suspended host. Across Mobile and Baldwin County the water genuinely differs street to street: chloraminated surface supply on one side of the bay, private wells and brackish intrusion on the other. A generic 'we sell softeners' site would have sounded like every competitor. The build had to earn trust with facts the homeowner could check, and cover two states' worth of service area without turning into a template.
Answers the homeowner's real question — 'what's in my water?' — with their own utility's published record before asking for anythingWhat moved the needle

The deliverables,
line by line.
A 213-URL Next.js platform built around real water data. Every major utility in the service area has a report page built from EPA and Environmental Working Group records — system ID, population served, contaminants above health guidelines, and what each one means in plain English. Around that sit 29 service pages from residential softeners to brewery and marina treatment, brand-repair pages for Kinetico, Culligan and RainSoft systems, 38 city pages across coastal Alabama and the New Orleans metro, six free diagnostic tools, a 40-post blog, and a free in-home water-test booking form on every page that routes by the problem the homeowner describes.
- 213 live URLs — verified on the live sitemap 2026-09-22 (the domain previously sat on a suspended host)
- 21 utility water-quality reports — MAWSS, Fairhope, Riviera, Gulf Shores, Daphne and more — each with its PWSID, population served, and the contaminants measured above health guidelines
- 29 service pages — softeners, whole-house carbon, under-sink RO, UV, well treatment, PFAS removal, plus commercial work for restaurants, breweries, marinas and RV parks
- Brand-agnostic repair pages for Kinetico, Culligan and RainSoft owners — the system already in the garage is a customer, too
- 38 city pages across two states — 29 coastal Alabama communities and 9 in the New Orleans metro
- New Orleans Metro guide — Mississippi River surface water south of the lake, address-dependent groundwater on the Northshore
- Six free tools — symptom recommender, hardness calculator, test interpreter, hurricane prep, quote estimator, bottled-water ROI
- Free in-home water test booking on every page — the form routes by problem (taste, hardness, staining, well, drinking water)
- Native blog engine — 40 plain-English water guides with generated branded cover art
- Google Business Profile run by the studio on the retainer
How the build
earns the call.
The utility reports are the moat: '[utility] water quality' is a search real homeowners make, and the answer lives in federal data most competitors never touch. City pages point to the utility that actually serves them, service pages point to the problem each system solves, and the tools catch the research stage — hardness, test results, hurricane prep — before a buyer is ready to call. Conversion is one offer, everywhere: a free in-home water test with results on the spot, or a tap-to-call.
Water Filtration 1 went from a dead domain to a platform that makes it the most informed voice on local water in its market — the company that shows you your utility's record and then offers to test your actual tap. The studio runs the site and the Google Business Profile on an active retainer. The platform is newly live, so this entry describes the build; results will be reported once they're measured.
Nobody wakes up wanting a water softener. They want to know whether the water coming out of their tap is fine — and their utility already publishes the answer, buried in EPA filings nobody reads. This build reads it for them. Every major water system in coastal Alabama gets its own page: the system ID, the population it serves, the contaminants above health guidelines, and what each reading means for a family. A homeowner arrives with a question, leaves with an answer, and the free in-home test is the obvious next step — not a sales pitch.Studio rationale
